What's with the title?

I talked to the Classics professor today. Beatus is a saintly (male) person in Latin. Beata would be female. So apologies to Barbara Jane, Aimee, and Sarah. I can always change the title if you want me to.

I asked the Classics prof if there was a Latin word for Sin and she said there wasn't and that the notion of Sin is a newer concept to classical Latin. But she also said that the closest equivalent word she could think of was Vitium. I've been looking all over for what it means, specifically, but I can't find it . . . though it has something to do with cancer in contemporary dictionaries. I'll do more digging and poems are soon to follow.
